I think the patterns you posted could make a really cool Asian-poly half sleeve.
I hate the reg bold thick pointy tribal, but the Polynesian stuff is awesome.

Go CHECK there portfolios a lot of artists are inconsistent as hell or not very versatile with diff styles of work.
Find a artist who is passionate of that style of tattoo you want. Also any good tattooist these days should be booked up in advance to some degree. Unless you get lucky.
My artist is 6 months, my other artist is at least a year. Remember this is for life, waiting 6 months to a year won't kill you! at lot of these dudes walking around with shotty work is because they didnt want to spend money and/or couldn't wait a few months.
Armpit isnt so bad, just pinches a lot. Any crease in your body is like that. Worst place on the arm for me was the elbow.
Also it doesn't really matter what nationality you are. Every one and their mamas get Japanese style work and now in Asia they are crazy about "one point" traditional Western/Americana work.
Just get Japanese style sleeves with elements from your culture. There was really nothing ment to be tattooed like Traditional Japanese. lol okay maybe not full sleeves, but if you get tattoo crazy later you will wish you did! haha.
