hi, i'm new to the forums. i'm planning on getting 2 arowanas, a jardini and a silver and i was wondering would it work out for the two of them? both being around the size of 3-4 inches. thank you. :)

It will be ok for a while, but eventually the jardini will probably kill the silver.

yea congrats on your future aro and its a bad idea so i suggest you dont waste your money on it and thats all just stick to jardinis their better. HAPPY ARO-ING

Well on that note I would get a silver and a black...how big is the tank?:D

a 20 gal for now. :( but soon, once my arowana (still can't decide on what kind to get hahaha) gets a little bigger, i'll definately move him on to a much larger tank. are jardini's really overpriced? the local fish store i go to have the jardini's same priced as the silvers, haven't seen any blacks yet... but they sure sound interesting. :) thanks for everything guys...

Then pick up the Jardini.

This does bare mentioning. Since your new to the idea of arowanas, after you purchase your fish, even a single fish, you'll have to imagine purchasing no less than a 180 for the fish. You may not need the 180 (Actually 220 would be even better) right away but probably within the 6 - 8 months depending on how big it is when you get it.

i had a 4 in silver with a 3 1/2 inch jar before. before, the silver tried to attack it whenever they crossed paths, and later they just left eachother alone in a couple weeks. it is best to introduce them together at the same time in a new tank.
