planning to buy two brand new arowanas, help needed.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
either of those fish will outgrow a 20g ten times faster than you think they will. if you think they will out grow it in a few months, buy a 220+g tank next week or else you will be buying a 55, then a 75-90, then a 125, then a 180, then, finally a 220+. trust me- i know!

majority of the time it would be luck and i would have to agree with pebbles. as long as they are introduced at the same time and grow up together they will probably eventually figure... "im stuck with him." from what else i was told is that you might want to try to get 1 jar and 2 silvers (min.). by doing this it confuses the jar or he will think he is out numbered. it just depends on your jars personality IMO.

Do you want to end up with one large fish in your tank?

If the answer is yes then go with the Jardini

Do you want to have a community tank that has multiple species?

Go with the silver or better yet a black.

Either way they will outgrow that 20 gallon in a few months.

i kept my jardini, silver, swortail fish, platy, gourami, angels in same tank too lols. bad idea but very peaceful living together, for my tank at least. im planning on adding a flowerhorn, or some kind of colorful cichlid in similar size.

get a big tank. Chances are the jar will kill the silver. If you want to try to mix, get a huge tank, and put in a number of aro's above 4.

how big are your aros??? I am guessing still small... well I hate to be the bearer of bad news but most likely both aros will get bigger eat all the small fish in your tank and then that jar (might not happen but most likely will) will decide that no one else should be in his tank and kill the silver....IMO

hold up

the guy only has a 20g tank

my adive would be get the biggest tank you can 1st then think about what aro to buy

Unless, the aros are <5" AND a fairly larger tank is imminent ;)
