That is a decent co2 unit, but I would get a normal reg combo, and larger tank. I run 20 pounders on my tanks. The bubble counter in that setup looks like one I had, and it was junk. Also, there is no solenoid, so if you wanted it to turn off at night, you'd have to do that manually.

what do u mean by normal reg combo. so get larger bottle. i dont car about doin it manually.

Regular regulators are designed to be used with standard CO2 containers. Manually turning the co2 on and off can be very dangerous, one failure of the o2 method during the night can wipe a tank out.

I am partial to the Milwaukee SMS122 pH controller, and the Milwaukee MA957 co2 reg setup. These can be found together on Ebay for generally $160-180.

i had a look and i was wondering what a solenoid actually does. so i am basically gonna order them 2 and get a large bottle. and i am gonna buy piping and diffusors. is that all i need?

A timer from Walmart is the only other thing.

If you read the sticky, you will learn what a solenoid does.

A solenoid is just an electronic switch. When the power is on, the solenoid is open, and allows CO2 to pass through. When the power is off, or unplugged, the CO2 is blocked (shut off).
