Plant only filtration (why not popular in the hobby???)

yup Pothos dont seen to like direct sunlight :( the ones i have over my pond also turn yellow and does not grow as well as those in my sump tank which has shade.
any pther plant which can be used like a pothos and appreciate direct sunlight?

Wow! So what you're telling me without reading 85 pages of great info (I got 15 in...) is my 240 can survive with select plants, lighting... a powerhead, heater and should be ok? Without powering a sump/ canister or hob? Lol insane!
 
Pretty much.


Last week I went out to the shed and checked on my guys, the 500gallon was half empty. The plant overflow got clogged and was dripping water out the back! Check your drains! The pothos officially go all the way around the shed, miniumum 36' vine.

My Ipad froze and I am not re typing everything. In short I didn't read this thread and will read it tomorrow. This is my week old tank with elodea and another plant. I will test the water tomorrow and post results tomorrow. I added a couple of air stones today. Before I added the airstones there was no circulation and the plants produced enough o2 for the fish.

With my saltwater tanks I always avoided a noticable cycle when I used macro algae when starting the tank.

This is monster fisheries why not elephant ear its hardy and pretty and as a bonus some types get huge
 
I tried maple, I moved to much at the time and it died.

Love to try trees again but I dont have a 50' ceiling
