Can anyone recommend plants that dont need Co2 or fertilizers?
I have Java ferns and plan on getting Java moss, but its still pretty sparse tank.

I am trying to avoid Co2 and tabs/ferts because I want to keep it a sand substrate and my exp with tabs have been messy. I don't want to get all artsy with a planted tank, but I do want to make my fish feel comfortable and natural.

I'm fairly new to plants but before I decided to add Amazon Sword plants to one of my aquariums I had Anubias plants. Anubias are a perfect beginner plants to start with low tech no bright light or fertilizer needed if you have fish.

My largest anubias I’ve had for a few years and it’s grown in the crappiest conditions: toxic goldfish + claw frog water, small vase, betta bowl, and now in my 36 gallon bow front planted tank.
It has never done bad in any conditions.
The easiest plant to take care of imo.
I use root tabs for my sword and aponogenten, but I can’t say that I’ve noticed a difference with or without them. Maybe I haven’t been doing plants long enough though.

I already have rhizome plants (java fern). would Anubias compete against them or are they harmonious with eachother?
