Set up this 10g last night, my inner child is so happy! Planted with el nino fern, marimo moss, anubias nana, cardinal plant, staurogyne repens, and cryptocoryne undulate. Going to add some more carpeting plants (not patient enough to wait for them to grow) in the next week or so. I wanted to do something unique and fun; this definitely fits the bill. Wanted to stock it with dwarf puffers (per MFK suggestions) but my husband wants to move the betta in to it. So once the plants get a good hold in the substrate I'll add a group of aldolfo's cories instead of doing a puffer only tank. What do you guys think? 6facvTah.jpg32XBG2wh.jpgLN5n5ANh.jpgMeujR2Oh.jpg

Normally I'm not fond of theme tanks, but I have to admit this one looks pretty darn good.

Don't put a beta in it because it could eat all the plants. What lights are I the tank?

I never heard of a vegitarian betta. lol.

I know that you know what's lacking in the picture. A short body variant of Poly. :nilly:
Btw, is the dino plastic child safe? If it is then it's somehow water safe...

Do you mean cories? I've never had a problem with my betta eating plants in his currently planted tank, or heard of any one else having that problem. Right now it's just the light that came with the kit (two bulbs in a black plastic hood) but I'll pick up an aqeuon T5 once my lfs has some in the right size.

I think it looks pretty neat :)
It would be very cool, if someone did a dinosaur theme tank, and then put jurassic era fish, such as bichirs in there.

I emailed the company to get their thoughts but the label said child safe/non-toxic so I figured it was. If it isn't or the paint starts to get weird I'll take them out and either seal with silicone or find different ones. I'd love another poly but alas I don't think that'll fly lol

Then maybe you could go for some Beaufotia kweichowensis - Butterfly loach just suggesting... Hmm I'm thinking of more prehistoric little critters it's just that it's 1:46 A.M. here and insomnia's kicking again, I couldn't think straight. :irked:

They are really cool but I'm not sure how they would do in my tank; there isn't very much flow and there's not algae yet. I'd love to have one some day. If it weren't for this damn betta I could have puffers which would be awesome. Don't ever give someone's kids a pet as a gift because I hate this guy but am stuck with him for several more years lol.

Nice, lol! It looks good:) I've thought about setting up a theme tank, just don't know what I would want to do. I admit I tend to get bored of theme tanks quickly, but I like them.
