This is just similar to what DrZachryus is planning on doing with his monster tank...i wanted to add those grass like plants that will grow all over the bottom floor of the tank...you can see a pic of it on DrZachryus thread of his plan. So like I know Co2 is needed to keep plants healthy and lively but can I just keep added plant vitamins and liquid Co2...? Their will be lighting but not too bright and strong but enough to penetrate a 3' deep tank. Its a amazon like setup with like those big tree roots like wood and lots of driftwoods and sandy substrate. Some river rocks will be added, it's like dieselmacks old tank look when he used to have his monster cichlas. I will have 4 powerheads but in the 2' deep end just so i won't have any stagnant spots in the tank and it will be like 2 powerheads at each end of the tank lenghtwise and the powerheads will be place say one at each corner of the tank. I will have some more plants to add like floating plants as anything other plants would just get destroyed by my cichlids... I won't have much in it, Silver Arowana, 2 Cichla Orinocensis, Female Red Terror, Male Red Devil, my Male Umbee, pleco, and 9-12 Clown Loaches as clean up...and my Oxydoras Niger Catfish. When and if my umbee gets larger i may just sell him or get him his own tank like a 360 gallon tank...so flame away with my idea or just give me your personal opinion of this

Is it a tank or a pond? If its a pond, will it be indoor or outdoor? The part about the 2' end is confusing me :)

Sounds cool though. I'd love to see some pictures of it.

well its going to be indoor and its going to be concrete walled all around at 4" thick and only glass/acrylic as the viewing port int he front...im not sure if that counts as a tank or a pond but either way it going house some fishes...and pics will be add when done, but hopefully i have a brand new camera before i start making it...=/ lol i got all the concrete and sealants...just need the viewing glass

That is gonna be sick!

I want to check it out in person when you get it finished. I would love to build something like this in my house. I'd probably stock it with trout and practice fly fishing all year round. I need to think on this more...find a way to get the wife to agree to it.

yup is going to pretty sick alright...well i hope it turns out the way i dreamed it :) im pretty excited about getting started so i really havent had much sleep this week...been too busy late at night on papers and papers making a the layout and where some plants should go and where some rock works would be put at and all this...ive been concentrating on it alot this past couple of months...

oh btw do any of you guy in Cali or in the Bay Area know of a place that sells small 2" clown loaches? im looking for 9-12 of them as clean up...

Up this way that's all they really have...small clowns. They go for $8 each. At the 4-5" mark, they go to $14....and 4-5" is being generous.

I tossed a group of 3 (less than 2" when I got them) in my ebjd tank and they are growing pretty well. They know when it's feeding time and they meet me at the surface. Probably my favorite fish right now.

cool while i was looking around i found this one LFS downtown and they have some 2"er for the 2 for $6 so im going to get 10-12 of them so it'll cost me about $30-36 for all...they get them readily and so imma pick some up on my birthday in a couple of weeks

I really hope my tank ends up looking like that, I know the fish will love it and it would look lovely in the house.
