oh with the liquid Co2 for the grass to thrive...do i need to give it its supplements and vitamins and mixed with the liquid Co2? How much liquid Co2 do i need to add daily?

In my experience liquid CO2 (I'm assuming you mean something like Excel... ) is beat hands down by a simple DIY CO2 yeast reactor. Its much much much much much much cheaper, and if piped into the intake of your filter it can deliver as much carbon as your plants need. Especially if your going for the "lawn" look of that picture in DrZacharyus's post. I've never been able to get a lawn effect with liquid carbon alone. And actually if you were to do a CO2 reactor you wouldn't need liquid carbon as much (if at all).

I think that if you planted dwarf hairgrass or brazilian microsword it would end up looking very similar to that. One of those could be what the plant is.

though, not to say that those plants won't grow without CO2. They grow fine without it. But they won't form a dense lawn without it. sorry I confused you!

A cheap CO2 reactor? Mine was under $10 to make. I used the website Aquatic Eden. Its got a good how-to for a CO2 generator, and a good recipe for creating CO2 also.

so for this DIY reactor do i have to keep refilling it every week?

I refill mine every 2 weeks, and it takes 10 minutes to do, about the same amount of time I spend every day doing tank maintenance.

though, the CO2 will keep on being produced for over 3 weeks. So you wouldn't have to refill it as often as I do. I only do it because changing it more frequently causes less variation in CO2 in my tank, which helps prevent opportunistic algae from gaining a foothold.
