tank looks great, always changing it up joey, get those test kits for your plants, if you dont have it.... as far as i know about planted tanks, you have to have enough iron traces in it... and yes light does help... if you want to get into something cheaper... run a regular daylight lamp you get @ home depot & mix it in with a 50/50

Yeah that looks very natural, I like it! I prefer a natural looking tank over a decorated tank any day. How tall is that tank? It looks like a 36" or more? I got short arms I would have to get inside a 36" to do anything at the bottom lol. That Mono is a bruiser, I think my Peru will be like him someday. I got a new tank on the way as well, appreciate the aquascaping ideas!

joey try a flouro sun bulb... they work too but the color is ugly. you can also run it with a 5500k, a 6500k and a 18k for good growth and a wide spectrum... save your money and get some java moss
I'm trying plants in my tank as well. I put a mat of riccia in yesterday and will all the water flow I have it made a big ass mess but once I changed the outflows it settled down a bit. I also have an Amazon Sword as well that appears to be doing well and some java moss tied to a piece of slate. Pics to follow.
