Platy breeding gene pool

I've gotten some interesting fish so far, but nothing like a blue parrot.

how often do you find deformed fish in these inbred populations?

I have tried to keep lines fresh. I remove all males and sell them, then rotate new males in from new stock @ lfs. I even buy from different stores to get new lines. I only keep one lmale in the tank at a time. I have had 0 deformed fish, and no disease or casualties so far from the fish I have raised.

Found three more new fry this afternoon! It begins again...

Two more. I know they are platys, but I love free fish.

Does anyone know: Do Platys release an entire brood at once, or do they release it throughout an entire day. My experience has been the latter, based on the fact that I usually only find a couple at a time.

Now 8 new fish total. I think my theory on a gradual birthing of fish is holding up.

Now an even dozen. I sometimes get the feeling that no one cares about my breeding platys like I do!

Fourteen. My largest brood ever. I am starting to think that someone telling me I'm stupid is better than no response at all. I'm getting lonely in my own stupid platy forum.
