play sand

i setup a 10 gallon today and added some play sand
it hasnt settled and its been about an hour
im sure it wull settle soon
the waters alllll yellow
but the sand is kinda brownish lookin
looks nothin like any of yours
idk how this is gona turn out but thanks guys

it took like 3 hours for the sand to settle in my 55, shouldn't take that long in a 10. just be patient.

that would be your best bet do a big water change 50% or more...

can play sand be used as a subtrate?
if so any pics?

Wash it very thoroughly.. Expect to spend hours washing it.

I've used it in an African tank. It's cool to see the cichlids spiting it, but not worth the hassle, IMO.

You have to keep it stirred up to prevent anaerobic activity (sulfur bubbles).

When stirred up the water gets cloudy.

I am switching back to gravel myself.
