isnt that the point of dithers? they get beat up yet fast and enough of them not to get really beat up or killed and so the more prized fish to beat up each other.

I'd go for another 12"~ Cichlid like a Jack Dempsey, Chocolate, or maybe even a Texas. Salvini is another option, though they don't grow so large.
I think I've decided on no dithers. I really like the peaceful look that the tank has now. I'm keeping the GT in for the time being but he's still not eating-- stressed from the move maybe? Everyone else is eating just fine.
I finally have pics of the finished tank. I'm waiting on a few plants, and I'm getting new bulbs for the light fixture (10000K instead of the 50/50 that are currently on there).
