So you are driving him to vancouver? What happens to him there?

He's just chilling in a hundred gallon Rubbermaid stock tank for now. After dropping him off at the "safe-house" I drove over to the Regional DFW office and picked up the application. I always feel it is best to go in person - it's a lot harder to say no to someone after you've shaken their hand. I got an assurance that the case would be decided within a couple weeks at the most, so I'm feeling a lot better about my chances. :)

Snappy will be back in Oregon in no time, Dan..you're fully right. nothing like a handshake and eye to eye contact..

Thanks, I had a feeling... :)

After my meeting today I'm feeling better. Filling out the application is like writing a friggin' grant proposal! The guy said he would put it on the fast track and promised to get back to me after next week, so stay tuned.

The worst part of the meeting was at the end when he said "If you had told me you had him since 1996 we go by the grandfather clause. I'm just too dang honest (or dumb?)!

Are you serious about that? If so, you shouldn't have to fill out an application at all if he was legal when you obtained him.... When were snappers banned in Oregon anyway?

I've only had him since 2001. He didn't tell me about the grandfather clause until AFTER I told him how long I've had him... :(

I think they must have banned them in 1997 or thereabouts.
