On e a day. Sinking or floating pellets onlyWhat are you feeding your fish and how often??
Is it ok for gar to lay down on the bottom like this? What are you feeding your fish and how often??
What brand of food. If you notice the jaguar stomach getting too big you should cut down the feeding to maybe every other day. They are big fish and can go weeks without food so how often you feed is up to you. I don't know anything about gar but I would post any problems you are having with it in he Gar Section. I think it's in the ancient fish sub-forum if I'm not mistaken. Is it ok for gar to lay down on the bottom like this?

Just skip a day or two of feeding so the fish have a chance to completely empty out. They should be find but make sure you ask in the gar section about your gar if something is wrong.Once a day. I use pellets from xo sumo same as flowerhorn eats
I can't believe none of you guys caught this...there is no way your nitrate readings are 0 with all those large fish. Either you are not doing the test correctly or it is expired, most likely your not doing it correctly. Follow the directions carefully, the API nitrate test will only work if you do it right. You have to shake test solution #2 VIGOROUSLY for 30 seconds. After addind the 10 drops of #2 you have to shake the test tube for 1 minute. Let stand for 5 minutes. It's important to shake solution #2 vigorously because there are solids that have to be combined in the solution. If you don't do it correctly you will get a reading of 0
