I have another thread about the flowerhorn with white poo.

I treated the water yesterday with anti internal bacteria in the water, salt and
the blue stuff that gets rid of ick.
the thing is the flowerhorn still has not eaten it been about 4-5 days now.
is there anyhthing else i should be doing?
the temp is 27 degrees-80f
his stomach still seems bloated but since the treatment there has
been no white poo as yet.........

thanks in advace for the posts

If it's the Interpet anti-internal bacteria med, I wouldn't put much faith in that TBH.

If no improvements, use flubendazole (widely available at LFS, usually as pond fish treatment). Doesn't sound great at the moment. Hope he picks up.

Still seem bloated, but not eating normal and no white poop as of now? Hmm...time to pull out the Epsom Salt and bump it into 86 degrees Fahrenheit.

just found out the name of the blue stuff. its PROTOZIN - also known as protozoacide
is this any good?

I don't rate it for gut parasites at all. Good for external but not internal. Flubendazole is waaaay more effective for gut infestations IMO.

Also, check out this really informative thread about treating by medicating your own pellets with epsom salts ... http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=339362

you need to keep water temperature at 30 C( about 85 F) and water temperature must be keep at almost the same every time, the changing of temperature makes stress !
And you need to change 1/4-1/3 water every day, use the water that have the same temperature at the water in tank (+/- 2 C(3.6 F) and salt add to the water is 2 tea-spoon per US gallon, you also need to add more medicine into the water depends on the amount of water changed !

What are you params like?

I agree that a large waterchange up the temp, and epsom salt would be best.
Thats all I did with mine

i have just woke up today and he is pooing whit again
so turn the heat up to 82?or higher?

i will have to order the epsom salt over the internet and it will take a week to come, so what should i do in the mean time? thanks
