I don't know wtf it is! Params are all straight, no new fish added? Actually, only thing that has changed is a pair of Godmani was removed. My Psittacus and Rotkiel are fine. I lost my smallest last night, and am now currently losing this one. The other 3 are starting to show the same signs. It started the night before last, when the one that past last night started losing it's slime coat, and sporadically shaking. This led me to think it was some kind of parasite, so I added some parasite clear. I also added some melafix. They only seem to be getting worse. I did a 50% water change this morning, and added salt. I don't know what else to do

Oh darn...Nemesis, I hate to see that. I have many Geo's and love 'em. I have no idea what the prob would be. If parasitic, why not the others? Have you tried cranking up the temp?

Yes, the temp is currently at 85. I keep the tank at 82 most of the time.

Wish I could help..all I have to offer is praziquantel, heat, and salt. Sorry !!!

Thanks. I'm going to keep bumping this as much as possible till someone knows what this is. They seem to be getting worse by the hour.

Using Praz, Melafix, and salt is what killed my 2 geos and sev, i beleive. I even did alot of water changes but i think my BB was hit too hard with the conjection of 2 chemicals. Parasitic and bacterial infections usually have pretty visual signs. The red around the gills might hint towards ammonia or a gill problem. Just a suggestion, but no more chemicals until you see signs or sympmtoms of disease, without those, more than likely water quality is poor is some aspect. Maybee under filtered or too much BB can turn bad. ecspecially if you filters get bumped and it spews out BB. Hope I could help. Id say keep them on the 85 degee and salt regiment. Salt helps slime coats and gill function, which in your case will really help them recover. good luck

Thanks. Melafix and Parasite clear are supposedly not suppose to harm your bb. I don't know if maybe in conjunction together, they may just be deadly. But none of the other fish are affected by it. Their slime coat is basically diminishing, and the edges of their fins are tattered. Also the skin on their face seems to be bubbling and peeling. They are swimming with clamped fins, and doing a weird little wiggle. The shake, sort of like a convulsion, every so often. It's a 125 with 3 psittacus 7"-10", 1 Rotkeil 6.5", 5/ now possibly 3 G. Altifrons 6"-9.5", and a pair of convicts. Filtration is 1 FX5, 2 Eheim 2217, 1 AC110. Filters are kept running during wc's, so no bb spew, and last wc(before this mornings) was this past wednsday. Oh, and their gills are always red.
