ok my wife was bein nice and tryin to help while i was atg work she cleaned the algae in the tank she used a sponge that is not aquarium safe all my fish died i did a 50% water change and replaced my carbon and filter pads will the rock and tank be ok

I would have been utterly pissed. Honestly? Fish come first, spouse comes second. At least the fish don't nag me endlessly while I'm trying to watch my favorite show.

If all your fish died when I would say just empty the whole tank and rinse ALL the stuff in there (including the tank) at least 5 times before reassembling it.

yeah actually just dump it out scrub the rock and put them in a bin to re-cure and scrub the tank really well. make sure the rock sits for like a month to make sure all the toxins are out and the dead has been cleaned off. I would change the water in the bin twice a week to get rid of the toxins bit by bit until its gone. just to be safe. :) good luck tho

a male seahorse, yellow black blue damsel, bnded coral shrimp, sand sifting star, and gold banded maroon clown i was quite upset thankgod she didnt touch my freshwater tank then we would have problms lol thankyou for the advice

if the fish died in that short period of time... im certain whatever was on that sponge killed off pretty much everything in the tank.. sorry

looks like a THOROUGH cleaning and restart are in order
