please help i think she is dying

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
sadly there isnt an aquarium near me closest one is probably Birmingham and i cant get there at the mo as i live miles away and dont drive, she has stopped panting and is now just sitting at the bottom by the outflow pipe but so far today she hasnt flipped over so im hoping she is feeling slightly better today, if she can survive another night i can get my partner to drive me to somewhere that sells things like night crawlers and ghost shrimp but unfortuantly i cant get there until tomorrow.

KISS, Keep it simple stupid as they say. Have large waterchanges, keep values down, feed with nightcrawlers, there must be somewhere out there were you can digg sum upp. No need to turn in the sand etc. Keep your hands out of there, it will stress her. If you have the chance to fill water as you tap, that is also good, i do that, and the fishes dont even know im changing water. Less is more!

Sadly she didnt make it i just didnt seem to have enough time to help her one day she was acting normally the next she was upside down i did everything i could but i still feel like i have failed, i failed her so she was taken to young her life was far to short i feel so guilty i just wish i knew what happened

OK, this is not the safest thing to do but I have done it and it works. I am not going to take responsibility for your actions so all I am going to say is, do a google search... catching nightcrawlers with electricity

You should be able to find useful info that should help you get some worms in your own yard. If you are not familiar with the ways of electricity than I do not recommend you act on the instructions you might find. But for those that do understand the dangers of using house current than you should find this simple and useful.

Sorry for your loss!!! I would wish this on nobody... My dempsey was beat bad by my texas one night after living together for 3 years... and i tried nursing him back(it was bad and he didn't make it), i know your feeling and i wouldn't wish it on anyone who cares about their fish like family....

Sorry you lost her, I also was watching closely. The best thing you can do is learn from what happened , figure out where you went wrong and don't let it happen next time.

For my first ray i purchased a tea cup ray with very little knowledge of how to care for stingrays. Needless to say it didn't make it very long. I was so crushed by the loss it took me another 5 years before i tried a ray again. This time I did a ton of research for months and everything has worked out great.

I guess what I am trying to say is. It happens to the best of us and don't let it discourage you from keeping rays in the future.
