Please help ID.

Picked this guy up at my LFS he was sitting in a sump with an area of about 7 gallons. I had to take him home as I felt so bad for him. They told me it was a red devil. But I can see that it is not. I would not even say it is a mid evil. It to me looks like a convict but at about 20cm I think not. Does anyone have a hybrid that looks similar.

Massive male pink convict! I've never seen one with a nuchal hump!

Those eyes are throwing me off. Making me think kamfa and not convict. I looked at it and immediately thought Convict but those eyes. It also looks as if there may be some red in the top of the dorsal or is that just the pic?

Yes definitely red on fins and fish is colouring up the longer it is in the tank. At 20 cm plus I just don’t think it is a convict. Also has plenty small BLACK teeth.

I googled pink convict and found some pics of ones with nuchal humps. It's hard to say if yours is a hybrid or not but I believe the first one is a pure pink convict. But I don't know about the other pics. Lol

Yeah, there are def convicts with nuchal humps. I've seen a few myself. They remind me of mini midas cichlids. I do think yours is a kamfa though. and a nice one at that
