Your sand is silica right? When another ray playfully disturbs it when its covered with silica or bites it playfully, it will cause a little abrasion. These little nicks are ok if the ray is healthy. When the ray is older, this will affect it less. I usually prefer smoother edged substrate for rays.
Anyway if its still eating, leave it alone.

I NEVER TEST MY H20 but now im going to do it! I added salt my last water change, but when I did a waterchange this morning I didnt add any salt. was in a rush... should I add salt?
My sand is that 3M colorquarts stuff...

Quarts is more suitable for bigger rays with less fragile disc edges. I see minor scratches caused by it. It's probably uncomfortable but not deadly unless combined with other factors which stress the ray to already dangerous levels. Like adjusting to new water conditions and being bullied by other rays.
Check its breathing speed compared to the other rays. It should not be too fast.
Whatever changes you want to make, do it slowly. =)
