L001 for sure. One of the most common, not so common plecs.

Nice fish bro. :)

Cancel that last post. I didn't look at the pics very close. I'm gonna have to agree with WyldFya.

I am not a suckerfish expert and we dont have the range of L fish in Australia that you guys can get but this looks like L001 to me. P.joselimaianus. I do breed L001s and they show lots of variation so unless there is another very similar species, this would be my guess.

Some L numbers interbreed easily too.

WHAT EVER KIND OF PLECO IT IS ..it is a very nice looking one!

just to add my 2 cents---def not a gibby.

you breed joselimaianus? You should start up a thread on that, i'd be interested to read it. I know they are commercially farmed, but haven't heard of anyone spawning them in aquaria. Do you have a pond for them?
IMO it doesn't look anything like a pure joselimaianus, and struggle to see much in it at all.

Hmmm. Well if there are any other pictures that would help please let me know and I'll take them. It's not critical, but its always nice to know what you have. This guy didn't have anywhere near the markings when he was on a darker substrate. He just looked like the typical common pleco you always see.

Yeah, most species blacken up on dark substrate. Just wondering what size is it? It'll become clearer what it is as time goes on.

looks more paradalis to me then anything but does have some colors of a gibby or even L001. There has been some talk of inbreeding at the huge fish farms and its likely that you ended up with one.
