Please help my Jardini arowana, white growths on it's body

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oh, and also, don't mess with your pH chemically so much. It is better for a fish to have a stable pH in which it is not normally found in the wild, than to have a "corrected" pH which is prone to swings.

Yes, AmQuel will work for removing ammonia and nitrites. The reason I prefer prime is because it does a few more things AND is more concentrated. You need to use more Amquel, and it's a little more expensive, too.

I see.

So this is what my Jardini has correct?

He no longer has the white stuff on his scales, but I'm assuming that's due the entire slime coat being stripped off from the acidity.

I just put in 1 tablespoon of salt/5 gallons of water. We'll see how it works.

Don't forget to also raise the temperature to about 82-84F, do daily 25% water changes, and stop feeding. Probably wouldn't take food anyways.
