Hello folks, have a 75g tank current tank setup is a single Severum, pair of blood parrots who never leave each other, a green terror and single angel fish. All the fish are well over a year old and get along well. The green terror every once in a while will hold down an area but never gets overly aggressive. The Severum and blood parrots typically are all near each other through out the day and the angel just does his own thing. Do you guys think the tank is at its max stock or if anyone has a suggestion on a fish you think i could add to the mix or a group of smaller schooling fish. Thank you in advance.

got a pic? hard saying without knowing the size of the fish. also what filtration are you running?

Don't add anymore fish. The bioload is very high when they all reach max size, which they haven't yet. Test your nitrates with a liquid test, and make sure that you can keep it below 20ppm everyday.

I would definitely hold off on adding anymore at the moment. if you had more filtration I'd suggest a small school of a large tetras like Buenos Aries or blue Columbian. I'd suggest adding another canister or h.o.b as these guys will be pushing your 306 to its capacity.

I was thinking about adding additional filtration anyways. Any recommendations on what I could add to the canister I currently have for just a little extra help? I’d rather not replace what I have but add to it.

a large pre filter sponge. I put them on all my intakes. helps keep the canister clean and adds both bio and mech filtration. if your canister isn't cleaned on a regular basis it can turn into a nitrate factory fyi. monitor your water to figure out its maintenance requirements. this can change depending on the size of growth of the fish and any feeding variations.

I have a 75 with a cascade 1000 canister and a tidal 75 h.o.b that has pothos growing out of it. current residents are 1 jack d, 1 starry night, 1 acara, 4 polys.

I do weekly water changes sucking up the gravel to get as much from the bottom as I can get. I clean out the whole canister (sponges etc) and replace the throw away packets forgot the official name about once a month. I definitely will take a look at the sponge that goes over the intake I appreciate it. Is it worth adding an air pump as well? Thinking i’ll just do some upgrades to the tank today instead of stocking.
