I used to have a pet store red devil who would typically display a good sized hump like the ones in this thread, but if I slacked off on water changes then his hump would go down until I did a water change and then it would come back. It was kind of nice having a reminder like that...if I ever got really busy and just forgot, I'd always remember it was water change time when I'd go to feed big-head and his big head was gone..lol

yeah, i think it's just a lack of space, plus he's used to being in a community with about 6-8 smaller fish.

i wanna get him something with a 2 x 2 width/height.

something 6 or 7 feet.
add some other little barreds, red istletas, and some other midas complex.

probably after my next move once i move out!
he'll be around 13-14" by then.
