Surinamen Geophagus, I think. How big is he? It does not look like any version of a Midas/Red Devil to me.
 
it does not look like a geo to me either. in fact it look way too far from a geophagus.
 
Ok, maybe a Convict then... but the Eyes point me otherwise. If I knew its age and size it could help narrow this down substantially.
 
How big is it? Definately some type of amphilophus. Looks like it just hasn't peeled yet to me. Probably a RD/Midas cross depending upon were it came from.
 
its hard to tell from the picture but with the tail spot located on the upper portion and the stripes and red color, I would say Festae be it a stressed one.

Small spots, Fin and tail shape is rounded, beady eyes, head shape, not a convict, and 6 inches in size.... Texas Cichlid.

Semi-Aggressive, grows up to 12 inches, Omnivore, fairly easy to care for. Likes 75-78° F and pH 6.9-7.1
