looks exactly how my festae did when i got him, washed out and stressed . i guarantee he took that pic when he first put the fish in the tank.
 
I believe that barred red devil is spot on the money. They aren't all that uncommon. Sometimes they change to red, orange, etc. but sometimes they don't. In the wild, a good portion are barred, about 50% or more I believe.
 
doesnt have the body shape of a red devil at all, its not a barred anything red devil related. It looks like an ugly washed out inbred festae, or another amphilophis
