its hard to tell from the picture but with the tail spot located on the upper portion and the stripes and red color, I would say Festae be it a stressed one.

Dave

I was thinking the same thing.

Surinamen Geophagus, I think. How big is he? It does not look like any version of a Midas/Red Devil to me.

Ok, maybe a Convict then... but the Eyes point me otherwise. If I knew its age and size it could help narrow this down substantially.

Small spots, Fin and tail shape is rounded, beady eyes, head shape, not a convict, and 6 inches in size.... Texas Cichlid.

Semi-Aggressive, grows up to 12 inches, Omnivore, fairly easy to care for. Likes 75-78° F and pH 6.9-7.1

Dude....come on. If you don't know, you don't know. You're just making stuff up.

Ah MFK, how I love thee. People just throwing out random fish. What fun.

Post some better photos for more "realistic" guesses.

thanks guys, believe it or not, Its at a walmart, and they have no idea what it is or how they got it? consider it saved....

My guess is a mayan cichlid.

Fourth times a charm... I don't even see any spots, besides the tail spot... I have no clue how you thought that fish was a texas cichlid.
