Its a white carp goldfish shad perch bluegill manta ray. I'm still trying to make up the scientific name.

How much is that thing going to cost to mount? Do you offer a guide service?

did no one mention the body shape? definitely a goldfish. goldfish get more of a dish shape than carp when they become larger. the second picture shows this.

and my cousin's pond has many of these in there along with koi, carp, and fancies.

Nope its not barb, just a goldfish. Tinfoil barb supposed to have short dorsal fin and red fins, this fish have long dorsal fin and its fins are not red so its goldfish.

sacramento river ey...

that's where i fish and i have fished on the sac river for 11 years now and fish on the sac river 90% of the time. which stretch of the sac river did you get it from? I believe that's a PURE NATIVE WILD GOLDFISH, baby carp are not as wide as of "height" and they are a lot whiter/bright silvery and has small barbels starting to form.
they will soon turn into a bronze looking color, close to a carp just not into dark dark bronze or golden bronze(kind of like feeder goldfish) they are also much more hardy than any goldfish out there.
wild goldfish would be legal to use for bait as long as its not the golden/orange ones from the shop, and so are carp.

if you need help identifying wild natives fish out from the sac river or ANY part of the west coast, feel free to PM me or go to http://fishsniffer.com/ and ask them for help would be fine also.
