I am pretty sure thats 82/83 degrees . Thats not bad but CA king might want it bit warmer after they eat. I keep Mt kings and thats fine for them but your type comes from hotter areas.
They do seem to thrive with a slightly warmer area in tank after eating.

A low watt under tank heat pad might be of help after he eats . Pretty snake . Is it a snake not often seen in Malaysia?

Pet store here recently got Pulchra type Malaysian toads and sells them as Chubby Clown toads.

hmmmm.... i need to buy a thermometer to tell the actual temperature inside the tank... will update you..

i don't think there are any king snakes in Malaysia, but there's a venemous snake that looks similar to a King Snake though. It's called Bungarus Candidus.

by the way, I used to find loads of those toads you mentioned just now back in my grandfather's village. How much do they sell them in the US?

They sometimes soak when preparing to shed. It could also have some skin irritation. I suggest you check the snake for mites or ticks. Or you could just have a kingsnake that likes to stay moist.

It will soak if it doesnt have hide area . They think by soaking they are hiding.

Ofcourse pre shedding they might soak or to warm . Dont think either should apply in your case .

You only need a much smaller water bowl for it and few hide areas. A water bowl that if they coil in it barely fit is plenty and most who keep kings say thats to big. They will also use thick branches to climb.

Keep in mind they are from arid areas . I have never had any soak even pre shedding but I keep Mt kings perhaps bit diff.

Its unusual watching it eat what is a $15 Gecko here in America lol but I guess what common house geckos are to us those are to you.
