So far so good for me. Not aggressive at all yet, but defends itself extremely well when another fish tests its strength. Spends A LOT of time swimming around quickly, and digging gigantic holes. Every other fish in the tank respects it (can't say the same for any of the others). I know it will probably go psycho at a later date, but so far I have to say it's an amazing fish.

I had a 8 inch buttie in my 265 and he killed 2 red devils 11 and 13 inches 8 inch green terror 8 inch Texas 10 inch jag 13 inch pleco and a 9 inch Dempsey and everything after that I tried with him he killed I even put him in my friends tank and he attacked his 2 foot tigershovelnose cat they are crazy killers I finally put him in a 40 breeder till I could get rid of him funny thing though I had an albino asain redtail catfish that would lip lock all my cichlids and I was getting tiered of his attitude to so I threw them together and believe it or not they lived in harmony lol so I got a 150 gallon and they lived in there for a year together with no issue until I had to move and I sold all my fish

At 3.5 inches their not too bad, but as they grow, they learn they can dominate, and then love to kill everything else in a tank. Eat it before it is a 1 fish, fish tank.
In nature they follow hippos, and eat the hippo feces.

I never had my own personal experience with them but I heard stories. Three weeks ago I was in one of my LFS and a customer brought a huge one about 10 inches that he said was terrorizing his 180g tank!

Ive got one about 5" growing out by himself. Cant speak on experience keeping stuff with them cause i keep many large bruisers and they all have their own tanks. Most every butti Ive every heard of are killers so mines been solo since i got him at about 1" cause fish like these are better as wet pets. Mine even at 5" spends most of his free time attacking his reflection in the glass if that tells you anything.
