some of you guys have become your parents....remember when they use to call your taste in music noise and hang on to things that have gone out of style (vinyl records, cassette tapes and movies, etc etc). That's you now. you probably say some of their lines too IE "because i said so...", "if you break your leg, don't come running to me", "would you do X if X told you to jump off a bridge?"

I reached 41 earlier this year and I've been keeping fish since 1978! Ah, that first tank. A 20 long so full of fish you could barely see the back, entirely wiped out by ich in about 3.7 minutes. ;-)

i'm with oddball.. on the 50+ side.

i've learned some things from the young folks on here. but i'm also shocked by the flippant attitudes about keeping fish that will outgrow their tanks. "oh, it's ok, i'll trade it in when it gets too big and get another small one to grow out". that just rubs me the wrong way.

49 here been keeping some sort of tank since 1968! My first one from S&H green stamps. A 5 gallon metaframe slate bottum. Had fancy guppies cory cats and a corner box filter. Anyone remember glass wool filter floss? How about aquarium companies Eureka and Odell? LOL

I remember my first tank, it was made of iron, equestrine glue and fancy prism glass. I kept cod and kelp. My filter was a fancy handled bucket, which I used to swap out fresh "sweet" water with. I made the trip to the water on my uncles two wheel bicycle, what with its 10 foot diameter front spindle and 12 inch rear vulcanized rubber round. It was grand, and my tank was extraordinary, much like my mustachio, which i grew to great lengths, waxed and pulled rightly. I'll tell you I snapped the boots of a number of raven haired beauties aside my watery cage! I was the talk of the town - oh how thier chins wagged! In any event, I lost said tank after the fever took my uncle and his water pulling metal horse was thrown into sea to become the first artifical reef on record.

LOL! OMG! JK! NM! !! kidding really.... :D Maybe you'll like this one, GGP (gotta go pee)!!! :)

Its not bitterness, at least I don't think it is. I'm going to be 19 in two months, so its not old age either:D. I just never was into the whole text talk stuff. I bought a cell phone with a full keyboard so I could type out words, not abbreviate them.

LOL
