some of you guys have become your parents....remember when they use to call your taste in music noise and hang on to things that have gone out of style (vinyl records, cassette tapes and movies, etc etc). That's you now. you probably say some of their lines too IE "because i said so...", "if you break your leg, don't come running to me", "would you do X if X told you to jump off a bridge?"

I am almost 42 and I do catch myself doing the same kind of stuff my parents did. The thing that gets me are the posts that are extreme in their attempt to sound cool or BA. The whole "I saw this and told them I would beat their a** for being so stupid" post that kill me.

Well, I'm only 23, but I have always acted to old. Probably cause I didn't have any friends as a kid, I was raised around adults mostly, all the other girls were playing w/ barbies while I was having my T-rex rip their heads off. Still don't get along w/ most girls. They don't like dirt, snakes, bugs, other creepy crawlies, and only wanna gossip! Grew up on a horse farm, adults abound. So, i learned how to play nice at holiday parties, went to finishing school(seriously), and I still act too old. And cause of all my horse related injuries while growing up, I creek and crack like an old lady! So idk if i count, but i feel in my 50s every time i get up!

Its not bitterness, at least I don't think it is. I'm going to be 19 in two months, so its not old age either. I just never was into the whole text talk stuff. I bought a cell phone with a full keyboard so I could type out words, not abbreviate them.

I seriously question sometimes the cavlier attitudes of young fish keepers. BUT, at least, it would seem, that some of you youngsters have a good head about you.

Its no big deal. I don't know, it just always annoyed me when I would have to spend a few minutes looking at something trying to figure out what all the code words and acronyms meant, so I just never did it myself. I'm not one of the kids you would see spending 58 minutes out of every hour (like my 14 year old sister) on my phone, but I do text fairly often. Nobody has actually ever mentioned why I don't do the whole text-talk thing, so they must not notice the lack of emotion in my messages.

I spent a ton of my childhood camping and fishing and doing that type of thing, and I was never into the whole social network thing either. I would do anything to be outside instead of in front of a computer. When my friends were commenting on each others facebooks, and I was at the nearest body of water fishing. I'm pretty sure I don't know anyone who has never had a facebook, myspace, ect. but I never had either, and never will.

That kind of stuff just isn't for me.
