I'd advise against using sodium chloride for bloat cases. As bloat makes it difficult to identify whether kidneys were also damaged or not, sodium chloride can potentially aggravate the issue and kill the fish. I would not go for that.
If it's epsom salts (magnesium sulfate), it could work but let's see first how the pleco does from fasting and praziquantel treatment. If the pleco looks noticeably more bloated, then epsom salt dips can be administered.
Bigcol, I'll check where you can get praziquantel. There was one forum that I am a member of that list meds for countries outside USA and as praziquantel is also a commonly recommended treatment, I do hope to retrieve that list since the forum is down today.
