Have you posted this Question at PC yet? Im sure it will get a great responce from the guys there! Is there any chance of your mate sending you more pictures?
Also I dont think Joefish meant any harm, everyone know how frustrating a bad importer can be. We can put in a big order at this end and end up with all sorts.....as im sure you know!

I think the best way for us to identify it would be for them to bring it in, and we buy one. hehe, but that is my answer on most plecos, even if I know what it is. The best place to post this would be Plecofanatics, but I don't think they would know much more either.
