To me, and without doubting your sources, they look much more like "watermelon" Panaque L330... I had during 6 years Xingu Panaques, they didn't look like these... particularly on the pattern... this was my biggest 6 years old male, around 13'' and sort of "reddish" colour on the pectoral fins... have a look on PlanetCatfish for Panaque pictures and ID keys... http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/numbers.php?mode=l&thumbs=16&offset=0&genus_id=27

The source is pretty reliable. Plus i haven't even had them for a day yet. Maybe when they settle in color will change.
