In how much time can a common Pleco grow to its adult size? Thanks who posted.

It really depends on the individual, at least in my case. Ive had two common pleco and one almost double the other in size in just one year

depends on tank size, food quantity, water quality an food type.

Commons will eat pretty much anything they can, an grow fairly quick. Ive bought them at 2" an theyve grown up to 6-8" in size in a few Months. I think once the hit 8" they grow slower. Ive seen acouple that got close to 12-16" in a yr or two.

:iagree: the ones I've kept got up to 7-8" fairly quickly but then slowed down a lot. :grinyes:

ihave a common pleco that iv just moved from my community tank into my oscar tank. how long will it take for it to settle down and start eat crumbled food again like it did in the community tank?

I 've had a commom pleco for almost 15 years in a 75g tank!! I bought it when it was 2in, and it dies with 5in only!! So it depends on a lot of factors: tank size and food specially!
