ZUcchini is what i feed its only cucumber some of the time. We call it courgette here. ANd trust me he eats both it all comes out with bite marks all over and totally gone - definately eaten.

And a potato for a week! That's suicide lol. You should really wash and even soak potatoes for a little while because the starch is terrible for your water quality. You are best off putting in your food at night, and removing anything uneaten by morning. Anything left over is usually due to overfeeding, so no need to put in that much tomorrow...
I suggest both of you check out the sticky on plecos dietry requirements. It will depend on the fish what they need to eat and to keep them healthy.

Two things. One, cucumber is nutritionally lacking, and is not a very good food for your pleco. Zucchini is a much better choice. Two, leaving the cucumber in the tank for 2 days, it is unlikely that the pleco is eating it, but rather that it has just broken down, and has fowled your water. Veggies should be in the tank for no more than 12 hours, after which they should be removed.
The pleco master has sponken....I'm your student;)

Nope - my plec doesnt touch any of the foods for a few days so if i took them out nothing would be eaten - not overfeeding my friend. It does screw up the water quality - but as i said i do a big change and i get all the poo out (and its more poo due to the eating of the zucchini and all is fine. So no problem).

Well... there is no reason to do that as it is asking for trouble. Plecos should eat it regardless. It either is eating some throughout each night until it can get through it all, or isn't eating it for a while due to it not being hungry before the last binge. If you put it in fresh every night, and remove whatever left in the morning, your pleco will not starve. May I ask what species you have?

Common plec...it's not big deal it takes a day on courgette starts eating and its done completely in 3. The whole thing. I like doing it this way - and my water is fine.

As opposed to cutting the courgette into 3 pieces feeding a piece a night? Not trying to argue with you, but depending on the size of your tank and your bioload... it might just make more sense.

Hm fair point, I may try this, i think it will make good sense when my sharks are bigger and the bioload increases etc, so I take your comments on board.

Glad to help. Will definately help when you have a large bioload too. Degrading vegetables should be one less thing to worry about.
