Rotting vegetation can add more to a bioload than a large pleco. The longer it sits, the more it breaks down.

not entirely helpful, what kind? I usually use hikari's sinking carnivore stuff for mine. They eat it readily.

Still not very helpful, and each pleco genus has different feeding needs. One food for all is not good.
