cheers guys , and yes ron it was definatly just like a stroke , i did try blowing into there mouths but unfortunatly luck was just not on my side.
anyway back to the topic :
cichlids - you need to be looking for something that grows at reasonable pace and gets large , but is not overly aggresive , my jags did used to nip the reds sometimes ,i could see it comming a mile off but the reds seamed oblivious to it until too late and he had been bitten , out of my three veijas the pearlsii seamed to just ignore all the snakeheads but i have had reports of them being nasty , i think i really would be a case of try and see with most cichlids , you could maybe try something like a few large Uaru far to big to be eaten (at least for a good while) and fairly peacfull .
my lfs has a nile pearch in with so marulia at the moment and it dosnt bother them at all even though its twice the size of the marulia , i belive he also has lsome large knife fish in there , also , theres a few other things in with them ,i will have another look at weekend and find out how there all getting along ,
i had no problems with my butti either which would be a great fish addition , but some of them do turn nasty (mine vas very peacefull)
