i went to a glass shop near my house and they quoted me an arm and a leg. i noticed thin glass is cheap, but i need a lids suitable for an arowana. i'll shop around for cheaper glass. thanks everyone.

i bought a 3 piece set of all glass versa tops from drs. foster and smith for 59 bucks shipped. i also tried the acrylic, cost me about 70 bucks and it it didnt work too well...i was better off tossing that 70 bucks in and watching it float in my tank

what size? mine were 2-sheets of 60"L X 13.5"W AND THEN 2-SMALLER SHEETS of 6"L x 32"W

A friend of mine lost a glass top and an arowana because the arowana jumped and broke the glass top. I have a 3/4 acrylic top and it works good. I guess go thicker if you can.

i dont know the exact sizes, they were for the 150 gallon with the dual center braces, they were the cheapest i could find and they work like a champ

3/4" acrylic i doubt will bwnd that much. pricey though.

my acrylic lids are like 1/2" thick.. i love them forever and ever... i dont think ill ever use glass

Yeah, try to go with 1/2 inch acrylic min if you can. My 3/4 dont bend and it is heavy so you dont need to place bricks on top of it to keep the arowana from jumping out.

But i have a lid for the sump that is thin that bends somewhat.

how much does 1/2" - 3/4" acrylic go for? the thickest i've seen at home depot or lowes is about 1/4".

mine came with my 100 gallon acrylic tank... cost me $115


they are made by seaclear... ive done about 3 seconds of google searching and have not found anything/anywhere to order just the lids
