Shot down in flames AGAIN! I'd still have the liquid rubber underneath, but a few cms of clay should take a lot of pressure off the seams between the ply sheets, no?

the pressure would actually increase on the seams since Clay is heavier than water

ahhh, but it will spread the force away from the seam. Step on a pea and it will pop, cover the pea with sand and step on it and it wont!
