Plywood question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I did a quick check today and saw that I do some some air bubbles. Iam thinking that those are far enough away from the edge and I should be fine. I am seeing lines on the silicone seam, they weren’t there or I didn’t notice them while we first set them in. Has anyone else seen something similar? I did give the pond armor a rough sand with 60 grit before applying the silicone.

Take it from me and give the silicone more time to dry. Removing the glass panel is no fun.

IME 5 days was not enough time and led to a leak issue. After a week I went to cut the glass out and the silicone still wasn't cured completely.

What silicone did you use by the way?

Yeah, I did try to cut some of the excess and the middle still was not cured yet. In this case I will give it at least a week and go from there. I used GE silicone 1

Good move. I would give a couple weeks just to be safe. I used GE1 first time and while I do think it would have been fine used RTV the second. So far so good ?. Tank looks good

Update. 9/8/21
Still no leaks with tank at fill level. I finished the plumbing for the filter. not the prettiest but as long as it don’t leak I’ll be happy. I ended up going with a canister type filter( evolution k plus filter)

still need to finish the covers and select lights and heating system. Anyone has suggestions on what kind of heating would be best for for a tank this size(about 1300 gals)
