Yay, I just got a call from the UPS outlet, my sealer is finally in.

Except for a couple of spots I need to back and youch up here's a pic of the first completed section of my background.

Lookin good. Cant wait to see the whole thing in place with some fish.

I made it over the border and picked up my Pond Shield today so I'm pretty stoked about that. I figure I have most of a day of prep work before I apply the sealer so maybe by tomorrow evening I'll be getting down to some serious business. If not then Sunday for sure.

I did manage to finish off the background today. What a job that turned out to be. In the end I seriously underestimated the amount of materials I would need so the budget went completely out the window. I used 3 sections of eggcrate, a couple of feet of 4 inch pipe, a hundred tie wraps, 7 econemy size cans of Great Stuff, a full gallon of resin, half a gallon of acetone, ruined 2 old kitchen pots, 2 paint brushes, half a 50 lb bag of sandblasting sand, and 2 cans of Krylon Fusion. Somewhere around $200.00 about twice what I originally thought.

Thank God the wife thinks it's cool or I'd be dead meat.

Anyway here's the finished pics...

That's basically where I got. Once I was almost done and realized i needed to spend MORE money to make it work I put the whole thing on hold and it got messed up in a move.

I imagine it would work. The Krylon paint doesn't seems to affect the Great Stuff at all. What I would suggest is that Dow makes a Great Stuff specifically for ponds that comes in black. I kinda wish I had known about it before I started. It's more expensive but obvously you wouldn't have to paint it.
