Plywood tank build

Yea with silicone. I have half a dozen tubes of DAP 100% silicone I'm going to use to install the background and seal the glass.

Right now I'm trying to decide what to do about my canopy. The wood has actually wrapped a bit on me. The unsupported edge along the front lip of the lid there's a gap now. The price of buying green soft wood from the hardware store I guess. Nobody else would probably notice but it'll drive me nuts if I don't do something about it. Also I have lots of left over wood and some ideas to make one less boxy looking.

Thought about fixing my canopy and decided to pitch the whole thing. To be honest I never really liked it anyway. It was an attempt to copy something I had seen on a different build and my end result was not nearly as cool.

So I took a good hard look at my scrap wood pile this morning and got to thinking. Got out my trusty tape measure and got to measuring. Then got out my trusty pencil and pad of graph paper and you guessed it, got to drawing.

I originally went to great pains to build an aquarium that wasn't a "box" then built a canopy that turned out to be a great big box. Wasn't working for me at all.

Loaded all the left over 2x4 I had into the Jeep and headed up to dad's and his radial arm saw. He always has beer, big bonus. Here it is so far.

I got bored so I put all the pieces I have finished tgether and painted the filters with some spray paint to match the background. Just to see what it was going to look like.
