plz help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Do a big water change and then add Pimafix and Melafix.

They are good for delicate fish, but change the water weekly as you are using these meds.

thanks for the help everyone...i think the aro will make it :)

he finally started eating again so i guess that is a real good sign.

i think the aro turned out to be like that due to overdosing of epsom salt...

Always make sure that you know WHY you're putting anything into your tank, and then make sure that you know exactly HOW to do it. Many sick fish die because, in their weakened state, they just can't handle mis- or over-medicating. Never put anything into your tank without a good reason and plenty of research!

I'm glad he's looking better. :)

Since when is it ok to keep illigeal fish (assuming he is in cali)? If I posted A thread saying I have a snakehead thats ok as long as I dont say im in WA.? What if I had said I had something super rare like a devils hole pupfish? It would only be right to get flamed. It would still be good to give the person help, but I thought there were consequences for these things on MFK. Save the fish then call the police lol.

Yeah but you can't just assume the person with a location of Cali has the fish in Cali with him, maybe there's multiple tanks in multiple places around the world. He never said he had the fish in Cali, he just asked for help.

Also, he asked what kind of disease it was and gave a photo example, we don't know if the picture was of his fish or just a picture of a fish with a disease similar to what his aro has.

Call the police? :screwy:

"Uh, yes... hello, officer... well, my name's Melinda, but you can call me justonemoretank, and there's someone somewhere who has an illegal fish... uh-huh, that's right... so, go get 'em!... Oh, no, I have no idea where this person is, or who they are... oh, okay, I should go pound sand? Thanks, officer!"

I meant not to actually call, just that before you tell him/others he is keeping an illegal fish, tell him how to treat it.
SpeshulEd, he/she may not know it is illegal, there is nothing wrong with pointing it out. Id much rather someone get flamed without deserving it than a fish be kept illegaly and causing much stricter restrictions. Especially if the person didnt know it was illegal.

I never said anything about the fish being illegal. I've tried to help all along. I don't really care whether the fish is illegal or not because it's not my business!

You dont have to, but it IS my buisness when he gets cought and gets headlined and hr699 passes...Itd be my buisness if someone was releasing snakeheads and they were still legal, its the whole fish keeping worlds buisness. One person/a small group of people in the news can, has, and im sure will f us all.

Do WC and try adding a table spoon of aquarium salt for each 10gallon.. I wouldn't risk using any other salts from a non aquarium fish shop. It doesn't cost much and it's only 1-2 bux for a big bag of it from your LFS and it'll last u forever.
