At least those gorgeous babies got to live long lives in the wild, and not crammed into cages so tiny they can NOT turn at all. Chickens are forced to have enough room to move your neck to eat and lay eggs until they are sent to die, pigs are in pens MAYBE big enough to turn around if they are lucky, then be treated like crap and be beaten by the workers, then go to have their throats slit or heads bashed in, same with our cutsie cows, used race horses - What they're doing is absolutely no worse than here.

The prob is that nowadays both the serch for exotic meats and leader has exponensialy increased alongside habitat destrocion, polucion, pet trade capture (wich however in the end may be their only hope of survival),etc. With so many things reducing habitat and the animals themselfes its amazing that they are still so numerous as they are (but declining...)

Actually, the poaching of monitors and pythons has had a big impact on their population.
