Nice longfin, i prefer the standard oscar.

I've had a bunch of them in the past, up to and slightly over 12". Even wild ones from Peru. Got rid of all of then one by one. I have no desire to ever get more. There are 100's of much more interesting fish to keep. Like aros, pbass, dovi, umbee. The list goes on........

That may be the case however not everybody has the funds/space to properly house the fish that you mentioned.

Got 2 that were given to me free. I'll probably pass them along to another hobbyist when I need the space.

Every time I get a new tank and go to stock it, if I get to the LFS without a definate stocking plan, I end up coming home with an O just can't get past them in the shop. Got 6 so far and they're great, but having them stops me getting a GT or Jag or any number of cool fish

Not to mention dovii/umbie aren't community fish. Oscars may be a fish alot of people start out with but great community fish and cant beat the smug look on their faces.
