thanks i am going to retry in 3 days, i didnt have a scraper so i had to use a razor blade and a thumb so my fingers hurt a little. Plus all my razor now have silicone on them.:wall:

well the fingers didnt hurt so i went for it again this time i used a lot less silicone and it came out pretty well. Um the extra silicone beads that dont touch the glass keep them, pic will come in like 5 hour kinda lazy

i reasealed my 55 and no probloms i scraped all the silicone off and rubed the edges with alchahol as the directions on the silicone said

? Didn't get that.

sorry i meant was when i ran the line the extra silicone that was there went to the side causing a area with a large amount. The excess went to the sides. Hope that helps you. I will get pics later on.

Ive always used GE silicone 2, but you really should remove all the old silicone before you reseal.

Ive resealed acouple tanks for friends an family, best job yet was resealing a Slate bottomed 55 with a tube of GE Silicone 2 an some 1/4" plexi. I just went right over the slate (as it only had a crack in it).

If it's what I think your trying to say you mean(:screwy: ), you can trim it away without a problem if it's going to be in view or just leave it. Seams (!) like there's never the perfect bead all the way around. I thought I did it once then a leaf below in it and I just couldn't wait till it was dry.

Another success story...just filled my SIL's 55g tank we resealed last week. Now he knows how to do it right too. :headbang2

Ive resealed 20+ tanks and no leaks. You have to have the patience to really clean the glass

I had done a 110 this past week a friend gave it to me because it leaked, I tried to reseal it got it all done, didn't look to pretty but at first it seemed to hold water, then it burst horribly water gushed from the bottom seals. My wife had to drain the tank! What a mess I came home to! sigh try try try... can you finger your silicone too much? Like as its drying?
