I am boycotting a major local fish store in my area. They were selling Parrots that were tattooed "I <3 U" just in time for Valentines Day. I emailed to tell them how I felt, and was suprised to get a response. Should I believe them and go back, or just give up on them. I have never seen altered fish there before, but have not been back to see if the fish are gone. Here is the response I got:

Hi


We are sorry they came in too. We give our vendor sometimes a choice of picking some different fish out. This was one of them the picked out. Again we are sorry too. We told our supplier that these are fish we do not want.

i would give them the benefit of the doubt.

if it happens again, and you happen to use this store alot and spend alot of $, tell them they lost more $ in you, than selling the occasional tank of altered fish.

if you dont use the store alot, not much ya can do other than keep boycotting and flip the bird at the store each time ya pass :grinno:
 
Give them the benefit.Especially if its a mom and pop shop.
 
i would believe them...and if the guy is saying he's sorry then that leads me to believe that you are a valuable customer and they would stop selling them if that meant that you would still buy fish from there...so all in all forgive them and if it happens again stop buying from there.
 
I agree. The response shows that they respect your business and want u as a customer.
 
My impression is that most of the time, these store owners choose the fish they want to stock. A week ago I walked into the place where I buy feeders and saw a tank with about a dozen tattooed parrots. Pristine Parrots are bad enough, but tattooed Parrots are absolutely hideous. I'm sure that I don't have to describe the ridiculousness of the various tattoos. However, it is clear that most of the people shopping at these places are not terribly sophisticated in their tastes and actually like these oddly marked fish. We are the minority.
 
ITS JUST WRONG! however everyone does not think like we do. they have other valued customers as well who do like and or appreciate them. i dont see why they look like giant easter eggs swiiming around a tank:ROFL::irked:.seriously though id still use them if everything else but that is good w/ the store. there is one here that has great fish, clean, fantastic prices, and help who know about the fish they are selling. its 15 mins further than petco and petsmart but imo its well worth it. i mean did ya boycott cable for showing broke back mountain? of course not? ;)
 
give them the benifit this time if they get any again sneek into there house at night and tattoo "I <3 fish" on there forhead! the fish dont get a choice so why should they
